Having read a few manga chapters and gotten to episode 40 something of Monster I say you should go with the anime.

Whatever you choose it will be a good experience.

I haven't read any of the manga but the anime is top notch. I really think Vax will enjoy it but fair warning it can be a little slow at parts and there's over 70 episodes.

I've read the first 5 chapters and watched the first episode. Really liking it. Is it a good idea to continue both or should I pick one?
